What happens to it

1. Somebody at the desk reads it during posted hours, Monday to Saturday, 7 am to 7 pm Central.
2. Anything ambiguous is queried, usually by telephone, because one question by voice settles what takes two days in writing.
3. The details go to transfer companies covering this county, as written.
4. The answers come back to you in writing, as a range, with what each covers.
5. If you choose one, the desk places the job and sends the operator's own details. That is the point at which a request becomes a reservation, and the reservation is held by the operator rather than by this desk.

Two posted working days is the usual span from request to written answer, and sometimes three. Nothing here promises faster, because the answers are not this desk's to speed up.

Available dates, and what availability means

A date is available when an operator says it has something open for that exact request. Until one does, this desk does not know, and it will not display a calendar of green squares it has no basis for.

Short notice narrows the field rather than closing it. A large party at short notice narrows it a great deal, because the vehicles that seat one are the first to be out.

What this desk does not ask for
